ZAIRE
Bukavu and Katana
We have been supporting this project for several years. Its main goal is to provide the children taken in Bukavu and Katana hospitals, because undernourished, with food containing vitamins and proteins, necessary for their growth.
The cures for these illnesses last many years; our hope is the children can be cured and go back to their homes.
Responsible of the project are Sister Lucia Sabbadin, Bukavu hospital doctor and Sister Rosetta Rossi, Katana hospital nurse.
SAO TOME'
Sao Tomé
The project consist in helping the building of a house in Sao Tomé town.
The goal of the house is to give hospitality to students studying in the capital but who come from the countryside. Since the lack of suitable structures giving hospitality to them, they would risk to leave their studies very early. The house will give hospitality twenty students and they will pay a chip monthy fee. The house can give hospitality some poor people that, for some reason, have to spend a period in the town and that could not afford to stay in luxurious hotels.
The responsible of the project is Mr. Angelo Caimi, volunteer of "Carrobiolo" group in Monza (Milan).
BURUNDI
The aim of the project is to finance the publication of a local monthy magazine supporting peace between people in a country where the real meaning of this word is almost unknown and where peace and truth do not exist longer. But speaking about peace is the most is the most important "weapon" remaining to the population to survive to the miserable conditions caused by a long vivil war still going on. Responsible for the project is father Claudio missioner in Burundi.
ECUADOR
Quevedo
The project consist in financing the association "15TH August" constitued by twenty members (twelve women and eight men). The association promotes an activity of beekeeping using, in a balanced way, the natural resources of the area in order to produce honey and other energetic content products. Besides the sale of those products might increase the income of the local people avoiding they leave their lands in the vain research of better conditions of life in some megalapolis.
Responsible of the project is Miss Giovanna de Joanni, volunteer in Ecuador.
